Prelim EIS still slated for September, 06.
This will be for internal team review and comment.
· No action alternative - status update
o Gary Drendel updated group on progress. Moving forward on this, and other sections
simultaneously. Chapter 2, Alternatives, including No action alternatives, has been
submitted to COE with some "info gaps". These "info gaps" may need to be filled by the
water users to help them along.
o McLoud would like water users to be infonned on the info gaps ASAP in order that
information can be obtained to avoid schedule slippage.
· FR/EIS progress ~~ Still on schedule. This may lead to some delay, but lead to better Preble impact
analysis, migratory bird impacts, and wetland impacts.. .this information will help establish
better mitigation measures.
o Cultural Resources (CR) - Discharge Damages modeling showed no increase from
Baseline in flood impacts downstream (actually showed less impacts than baseline) so we
are requesting SHPO revised the APE (area of potential effect) to focus only on the
reservoir. Under a separate project the Corps is conducting park-wide CR surveys at
Chatfield and Cherry Creek. We will review their recon report so that CR survey will
consider sites/areas most relevant to Chatfield Reallocation project.

· Water Quality Monitoring
o Received comments from WQ workgroup. Most comments focused on worse case and
maximum assumptions used in modeL
o Looking at using some more reasonable assumptions.. .using worse case scenarios for each
parameter will show unrealistically high WQ impacts.

Flood Protection.
