TRT Meeting Notes <br />Can you talk about management? On the South Platte, small communities are talking about <br />infiltration of water to their sewer systems; pouzts out critical need for management. <br />Harris Sherman: State has many different agencies that deal with water. State and local <br />agencies can get together and figure tlliizgs out. <br />Water Supply Alternatives and Solutions -Rick Brown <br />^ Presented SWSI Phase 1, emphasized the state has avoided developing solutions. Presented <br />Mission Statements and goals for eac11 SWSI Technical Roundtable. <br />^ Poundtables were: <br />- Conservation <br />- Environment and Recreation <br />- Alternative to Permanent Agriculture Dry Up <br />- Gap <br />• Explained how the Gap is a combination of water supply options. <br />^ Look at Colorado Compact <br />^ Deal with uncertainty with >IZterruptible supply agreements on the East and West Slope <br />^ Major Concepts: <br />- Seven pumpbacks -presented; did not evaluate at each option <br />Pat11 Forward <br />^ Conservation - As a source of new supply remains a challenge. <br />^ Alternative Agriculture Transfers -Hurdles, cities will not sell or tap on anything less than a <br />permanent supply. <br />^ Environment & Pecreation Needs -Balancing consumptive and nonconsumptive needs is <br />the most important issue. <br />^ Supply Development -West Slope not ready to enter into a dialogue. <br />^ Colorado Piver Water Availability Study -will shed light on this but not total answer. <br />Questions for Rick Brown <br />A couple of months ago at the IBCC meeting, you were asked to put some water <br />availability numbers. How about now? <br />Rick Brown: Section 7 SWSI Report and some of the slides shown today. <br />Nonconsumptive Needs Study in S. Platte and Arkansas where we are over appropriated; <br />how can we meet these needs? <br />Rick Bro~nm: This is a tough question; when we look at optional flow needs vs. legally available <br />flow. Need to intersect consumptive and nonconsumptive needs. <br />~~ <br />
