TRT Meeting Notes
Are nonconsumptive needs really needs at all or simply wants?
Rick Bro~nm: They are needs, especially on t11e West Slope.
If conservation is site-specific, is it going toward the Gap?
Rick Brown: Have not built a conservation strategy fllat can move a block of water.
hz SWSI, we had to assume that IPPs would be in place. Are these IPPs movuzg forward?
Rick Brown: Generally speak>11g, no. Projects have not made it through the NEPA process.
Can you give an estimate of how much t11e state has spent on
Endangered Species?
Rick Brown: $9 million Elkhead; $314 million Sout11 Platte as some examples.
Frank Yeager: I want to point out Rueter Hess is not done with the enlargement, is not
approved, and do not have water to put in it. I am looking to buy and dry, the Roundtables
need to start talking for real.
John Hendrick: Have some discussion about interruptible supply and firm yield. W11y is there
a dilemma on >1lterruptible supply? We need to be looking at consumptive use.
Pick Brown: Agree.
Harold Miskel: Tomorrow will receive a presentation on SWSI 2 . I do not see any way the
state cannot move forward on studying consumptive and nonconsumptive uses. We also need
to look at the water supply development concepts, flley need muc11 more work. Cannot turn
our backs on solutions. There are 3 roundtables need to use the water conservation board to
move forward.
Mike Sllimmen: How do we address climate change? We know the temperature piece. So we
need more storage. Is there any work >11 SWSI that can move this forward?
Rick Brown: CWCB Colorado Supply Availability Study will look at this.
Agriculture to Urban Partnerships
Peter Binney: Presented Aurora's water system
Dan Henrichs: Presented shareholders view of Highline Lease
~~
