d. Investigate Effects of Alternate Climate Change Scenarios in Upper
Colorado River Basin Hydrology – perform a qualitative assessment of
data collected in previous subtasks for how the flows in the Upper
Colorado River Basin (at and above Lees Ferry) may be affected by
Climate Change.

e. Prepare/Apply Factors to CDSS Model Hydrology – Combine the selected
Climate Change Projection with selected scaling and translation to
develop a set of proration factors to apply to CDSS hydrology. These may
be monthly factors for basins. Develop a hydrologic set of data for the
CDSS model.

f. Calculate a scenario of Altered Demands in the Colorado River Basin
within Colorado . Using Climate Change projections and scaling m ethods
from previous tasks, characterize effects of climate change on temperature
and precipitation in the Colorado River Basin within Colorado.
Recalculate irrigation water requirem ents, lake evaporation and other
demands with temperature and precipitati on re sult ing from the Climate
Change models. Prepare a demand scenario for the CDSS Statemod with
the revised demand data.

g. Summarize Alternate Hydrology and Demands of Climate Change/Memo
– Prepare a n electronic spreadsheet to summarize hydrologic and dem and
results from Climate Change to historical hydrology and existing
demands. A memo is to be prepared summarizing the investigations,
development and results related to development of Alternate Hydrology
for Climate Change and revised demands associated with Climate Change.

T he effects of vegetative changes in Colorado River Basin forests (within
Colorado) on watershed hydrology will be investigated and, if reasonable,
hydrologic scenarios developed to reflect those changes. Possible tasks
include:

h. Acquire and e valuate assessments (i.e. from E xperimental F orests of U.S.
Forest Service) of vegetative change in forests in the Colorado River
Basin within Colorado.

i. Eva luate existing model results , if available, for possible effects of forest
vegetation c hange on historical hydrology in Colorado.

j. Formulate , if reasonable, several scenarios of revised hydrology, based on
forest vegetation changes, for use in CDSS models.

k. Prepare a memo summar izi ng investigations into effect on hydrology of
forest vegetativ e changes and development of associated hydrology.

Deliverable s
: Written memorandum on review and selections of methods for
generation of alternative hydrology for Climate Change, manner of generating
alternative hydrology traces and disaggregation of tho se traces into CDSS flow
sectors , comparison of alternate h ydrology for Climate Change with historical
hydrology. Written memorandum of investigation into the effect on hydrology of
Colorado River Water Availability Study Scope 12 October 1 9 , 2007
