<br />USDA Secretarial Disaster Designations
<br />The USDA has programs to aid farmers and ranchers,
<br />The Secretary of the USDA has the authority to
<br />designate an area for an agricultural disaster. Once
<br />designated, assistance is available through USDA and
<br />Small BusinessAdministration Programs (SBA). As of
<br />October 20, 2000, seventeen Colorado counties and
<br />twenty-nine contiguous counties received drought
<br />disaster designations,
<br />
<br />Primary Declared Counties
<br />Archuleta, Conejos, Delta, Dolores, Eagle, Garfield,
<br />Kiowa, La Plata, Larimer, Logan, Moffat, Montezuma,
<br />Morgan, Phillips, San Miguel, Sedgwick, Washington
<br />
<br />Contiguous Counties
<br />Otero, Bent, Prowers, Crowley, Lincoln, Kit Carson,
<br />Cheyenne, Yuma, Weld, Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder,
<br />Grand, Jackson, Routt, Rio Blanco, Summit, Mesa,
<br />Montrose, Gunnison, Lake, Pitkin, Ouray, San Juan,
<br />Hinsdale, Mineral, Rio Grande, Alamosa, Costilla
