Castle Pines North Metropolitan District Application for Water Efficiency Grant 2.0 Water Conservation 2.1 Historical Conservation Water Savings The District began to implement a variety of conservation measures in 2003. These include retrofit incentives, watering restrictions, public education on water conservation measures, and a change to a tiered budget water rate structure in 2004. Because the conservation measures have not been in place for long, coupled with the wet conditions observed in 2004, it is difficult to precisely quantify the water savings associated with the District's conservation programs. Table 3 provides estimated annual water savings from 2003 to 2006 for conservation measures where savings could be quantified. bl tdA IW t S . Provide a water savings target of an additional 175 to 220 AFY based on 2003 water demand patterns (16 to 20 gpcd based on projected population at buildout) through existing and additional conservation measures and programs. 2, Select conservation measures and programs that target outdoor irrigation and customers of high use. Target customers include the following: . Residential (indoor and outdoor usage) . District irrigation of parks and open space .
