<br />grants. The City of Fort Collins was also issued an FMA planning grant of $13,950 to <br />upgrade their flood plan. The City was previously a participant in the Northeast <br />Council of Governments All-Hazard Plan, but this update will be specific to the City of <br />Fort Collins. The City and County of Denver is awaiting notification regarding their $3 <br />million application to both programs for a comprehensive flood protection project along <br />the South Platte River adjacent to Downtown Denver. The Flood Protection Staff has <br />been instrumental in assisting these communities with applying for and obtaining these <br />grants. <br /> <br />Statewide Flood Prediction Program Restarted June 1: The CWCB suite of flood <br />forecasting products resumed for the flood season on June 1 and will run through <br />September 30. This program is the return of a successful pilot project which debuted <br />during the flood season of 2006. The primary flood product is the Flood Threat <br />Bulletin, which is issued at l1AM daily and is targeted toward local emergency <br />managers and floodplain administrators. Also issued daily is the Storm Total <br />Precipitation map, which is issued at 9AM and is a compilation of radar information <br />from the previous day indicating where heavy rainfall occurred. Finally, twice weekly <br />on Mondays and Fridays, a longer range Flood Threat Outlook is issued to give <br />interested readers a look ahead to flood threats in the coming days. The information <br />can be found at the following site: <br /> <br />http://www.hdrweather.com/cwcb/cwcbinformation.htm <br /> <br />This site is also linked from the CWCB website. <br /> <br />Colorado Water Trust Executive Committee Meeting: On June 20, 2007, <br />CWCB and DOW staff attended a meeting of the Colorado Water Trust Executive <br />Committee to identify priority areas for the CWT to focus on in its water acquisition <br />efforts. The group discussed potential criteria to apply in establishing priorities for <br />acquisitions, and reviewed each major river basin in Colorado to identify streams and <br />rivers that might meet those criteria. After a full CWT board discussion of the outcome <br />of this meeting, the CWT intends to work with the CWCB and DOW to investigate <br />water acquisitions in the identified focus areas, with the ultimate goal of increasing the <br />number of proposed acquisitions the CWT will bring to the CWCB. <br /> <br />CML Annual Conference Held: Colorado Municipal League (CML) held its 85th <br />Annual Conference in Snowmass Village, Colorado on June 26-29,2007, at the <br />Snow mass Conference Center.
