The web site offers a Guide to Water <br />ConBervation that provides information pertaining to: <br />1. Why should you conserve water? <br />2. How to read a water meter <br />3. How to use a water meter to gather water intelligence <br />4. Four basic components to a water conservation program <br />5. Ways to save water outdoors <br />The website also communicates water quality reports from 2000-2007, water news <br />stori.es, and present water restriction that are in place. <br /> <br />Currently, the city of Lamar voluntary water use guidelines dictate: <br />1. Hours - Outside water use should only occur between the hours of 3 ::00 pm and <br />10:00 am. <br />2. Duration - Only a total of three hours of water use should occur per property <br />3. Water Uses - Water should not be used to wash sidewalks, walkways, patios, <br />driveways, parking areas, or other impervious surfaces. <br />4. Limited water uses <br />a. Washing of vehicles should be done by use of a hose with a positive <br />shutoff nozzle or by use of a bucket; at all times during the vehicle <br />washing procedure the vehicle should be parked on a grassy areas. <br /> <br />3 <br />
