The site evaluation will rely heavily on
field reconnaissance by the interdisciplinary study team, coordinated to provide for
maximum interaction among team members, although secondary information sources will
also be used. The results of these evaluations will be documented in a task memorandum
for review by the TSC and subsequent presentation to the PAG.

In anticipation that additional candidate sites may be identified by the TSC or PAG after the
screening process of Task 3, a contingency has been reserved at the beginning of this task for
fatal flaw analysis of up to two new sites. Considering these two contingent sites, up to ten
sites will be evaluated in Sub-tasks 5b through 5h. The sites evaluated will include Ralph
White and Elkhead Reservoirs.

Task 5 is divided into eight sub-tasks:

Sub-task 5a: Fatal Flaw Analysis of New Sites (contingent)
Sub-task 5b: Aquatic Biology and Fisheries Assessment
Sub-task 5c: Terrestrial Biology Assessment
Sub-task 5d: Engineering and Geotechnical Assessment
Sub-task 5e: Recreational Opportunities Assessment
Sub-task 5f: Archaeological and Cultural Resources Assessment
Sub-task 5g: Inflow and Flood Hydrologic Assessment
Sub-task 5h: Preliminary Cost Estimates
Sub-task 5i: Prepare Task Memorandum

Task Leader: Dr. Charles M. Robert Stoecker
and Warren Keammerer will assist with the terrestrial biological
assessments. Dr. Richard Valdez will assist with the aquatic
biologicalassessments. Dr. Roger Mann will undertake the
recreation assessment of each site. Ms. Jamie Donahoe will perform
the cultural and archaeological assessments.
