<br />GU3197 <br /> <br />TASK 5.D--PROJECT ELEME:NT SCREENING <br /> <br />Purpose <br /> <br />The purpose of this task is to coordinate the findings for the 10 alternative reservoir <br />sites of the hydrologic analysis (Task 4.C), technical considerations (Task 5.A), environ- <br />mental considerations (Task 5.B) and cost considerations (Task 5.C) and screen the <br />reservoir sites down to the five most attractive alternatives. These five alternative <br />reservoir sites will then be combined into alternative concepts in Task 5.D. <br /> <br />Responsibility <br /> <br />CH2M HILL will be responsible for this task. <br /> <br />Approach <br /> <br />The project team will undertake the following activities: <br /> <br />1. Collate the findings of Task 4.C, Task 5.A, Task S.B, and Task 5.C. <br /> <br />2. From the initial 10 reservoir sites, refine the number of sites to be incorporated <br />into three alternative concepts to five reservoi~ based on fatal flaws and a matrix <br />ranking of technical/environmental factors and construction cost for developing <br />the project. <br /> <br />3. Review the screening process with TSC members and obtain their concurrence <br />on the five reservoir sites to be retained for further consideration. <br /> <br />Products <br /> <br />The projection team will produce the following: <br /> <br />1. A description of technical/yield/environmental and cost factors that support the <br />screening of the 10 reservoir sites. <br /> <br />2. A technical memorandum descnbing the five reservoir sites recommended for <br />incorporation into the conceptual alternatives. <br /> <br />TASK 5.E--FORMULATION OF ALTERNATIVE CONCEPTS <br /> <br />Purpose <br /> <br />This task will investigate whether combinations of project elements may be more <br />effective than single project elements in meeting the objectives of the study.
