Up to
five additional potential reservoir sites will be identified.

3.

Develop preliminary storage-area curves for the potential reservoir sites identi-
fied from previous studies and from the topographic review.

Products

Task products will include the following:

1. A bibliography of maps, studies, and reports related to developing surface stor-
age reservoirs in the study area

2. A task memorandum including narrative, figures, and maps that identifies poten-
tial reservoir sites and presents a summary of those sites to be considered
further

TASK 2.B--INITIAL SCREENING

Purpose

The purpose of this task is to review the material collected in Task 2.A and to conduct
an initial screening of the up to 15 reservoir sites. This task will identify whether any of
those sites should be dropped from furth~consideration because of previously identi-
fied . problems or, in ~ professional jud~ent of the study team, should be dropped
because of apparent\.data flaws.
'.
,-.

Responsibility

CH2M HILL will be responsible for this task.

Approach

The project team will undenake the following activities:

1. Based on the literature review, identify geotechnical and geological character-
istics or technical fatal flaws that should delete a reservoir site from further
consideration.

2. Based on the review of the study area's general water resources, idemify water
availability at each of the up to 15 reservoir sites and delete those sites where

5

DEN/800P/033.51
