..

003180

water availability appears to be inadequate to meet levels of consumptive water
demand as identified in Task 3A.

3. Based on location and reservoir area, identify those sites that should be dropped
from further consideration. Reasons for deleting a site would be difficulty in
delivering water to demand areas identified in Task 3, location on sensitive or
incompatible areas (input from Task 2.C) such as National Forests, wildlife
areas, pristine or sensitive land use areas, significant flowing stream reaches and
other issues.

4. Solicit input from the TSC and delete ~hose sites that, in their opinion, should
not be considered further.

Products

Task products will include:

1. A refined listing of potential reservoir sites that should be carried forward into
the hydrologic assessment (Task 4).

2. A description of the screening process for incorporation into the final report.

TASK 2.C--ENVIRONMENTAL OVERVIEW

Purpose

The purpose of this task is to incorporate previously identified environmental concerns
with the up to 15 reservoir sites identified in Task 2.A into the screening process.
Resource and topographic maps, as well as knowledge of the project team, will be used
to identify potential fatal flaws and result in further screening of reservoir sites, if
appropriate.

Responsibility

BION/EST will be responsible for reviewing the list of reservoir sites identified by
CH2M HILL and providing an initial screening of environmental factors to
CH2M HILL so the input can be incorporated into Task 2-B.

Approach

The project team will undenake the following activities:

1. Collect environmental data from the literature and study area knowledge, for
each of the up to 15 reservoir sites and prepare a summary description

6

DENI800P 1033.51
