1.3.1 Summary of Dolores/San Juan/San Miguel (Southwest) Basin
Roundtable Request
To further their needs assessment the Dolores/San Juan/San Miguel (Southwest)
Basin Roundtable has requested a task order to develop a work plan to address the
following:
1) Consumptive use assessment – review consumpt ive use needs from SWSI and
update based on more recent information such as evaluating additional Colorado
River depletions.
2) Non - consumptive use assessment – build upon efforts from SWSI Phase 2 to
develop assessment of needs for the basin.
3) Alternati ves to permanent agriculture dry - up – identify opportunities for
alternatives to permanent transfers from irrigated agriculture to M&I uses.
4) Analysis and options for water conservation and efficiency – identify possibilities
and methods for identifying yields from conservation and efficiency throughout the
basin.

Funding Requested: $70,000

1.3.2 Dolores/San Juan/San Miguel (Southwest) Basin Roundtable Tasks
Authorized under Task Order 2007 - 003
The Consultant will meet with needs assessment subcommittee two times in person
and two times via conference call during March 2007 through June 30, 2007 to define
what elements need to be contained in their work plan. The Consultant will develop
draft sections of the work plan based on these input from these meet ings. The
Consultant will use information from SWSI 2 to address work plan elements 2, 3 and
4 above. In addition, the work plan for non - consumptive needs developed in the
Colorado B asin should be considered for the Dolores/San Juan/San Miguel
(Southwest) B asin. For all work plan elements, a common technical platform will be
considered by the Consultant.
Deliverable: Draft and Final Work plan addressing the roundtable’s 4 elements
outlined above.
