This is a potential role for CWCB with consultants,
funding for the development of information and tools, building on
the existing information available from SWSI, the decision support
systems and other resources so that viable solutions can be
explored and evaluated and eventually selected and implement.

Madam Chair: Cat?

Ms. Schreier: Yes.

Madam Chair: Ms. Schreier, I'm trying to figure out from your testimony what
your main points are and I think what I heard was that you support
the bill, but that it's a tall order you said for the roundtables to do
all that's asked ofthe111. Now you're also kind of bringing up the
point that the funding isn't identified. Do I have your-

Ms'. Schreier: There are issues that typically in going forward with planning
processes like this that other states have looked at, there is
typically more of a framework provided. That is not to say that the
groups are dictated what they need to look at, what they need to
do, but -

Madam Chair: More of a framework than this bill?

Ms. Schreier: More of a framework than what the bill currently has.

Madam Chair: Okay.

Ms'. Schreier: And there is some -

Madam Chair: Representative Penry, did you want to address -

Rep. Pemy Just one observation I wanted to make actually that had occurred to
me after meeting Cat. I didn't know this had been tried in other
states - in the state of Washington as she noted in her testimony.
Tried a process with some differences, but very similar with its
overall objectives and it worked to a substantial degree. The point
that she's made both in our personal conversation and her
testimony that I think there are things we can glean from that
process and maybe incorporate so that hopefully this process
works as well as it has in other states.

Madam Chair: Good. Okay; I'm sorry. You can keep going where you were
there.

www.escriptionist.com Page 42 of 49
