2-28 House Committee amended to appropriations

Madame Chair:

Rep. PelllY

Madame Chair:

Rep. PelllY

Madame Chair:

Rep. PelllY

Okay. How do these people get on - so this is not exactly a new
roundtable, the Metro one in VIII. I'm trying to figure out how the
people get on the roundtable.

Well, we'll get to that. In terms of being appointed? Yeah, we'll
get to that.

Sorry, okay, we can do that then.

That's actually our next amendment.

All right. We'll go to that on Page 8 unless people are wondering
what's going on? Okay. So now we're on each roundtable, how
they'll be made up.

One of the things you'll remember from the testimony was the
concern articulated that the SWSI roundtables may not in every
example be broadly representative of every group with a stake in
this discussion. And so what we did is we really tried to distill
down in very specific terms who was gonna be at this roundtable,
so that everybody knew that they were gonna have a seat or a
number of seats as part of this process.

And so we can go through just briefly what they are and then field
any questions. Each roundtable shall consist of the following
members - and all of these members with one exception actually
have to live within the boarders of the basin roundtables. They'll
have two members appointed by the county, unless it's a city
county like Denver, in which, the same concept, they would get
two appointees and at least one of those appointees can't be an
employee of the county. With the thought being, we don't want
just government types, we certainly don't want just government
types, we want really people who are in water to be part of this
conversation and have a stake in the water management. So, that's
I.

II gives every conversancy district and conservation district a seat
at every roundtable, one seat. The chairs of the House, Ag,
Livestock and Natural Resources Committee will have, in both the
House and the Senate, will have a single appointment.

The fourth category is ten at-large representatives appointed by the
roundtable members that we just talked about from I, II, and III.
One of whom shall represent environmental interests, agricultural
interests, recreation interests, municipal or local water provider

www.escriptionist.com
