2-28 House Committee amended to appropriations

Rep. PelllY

The southern, yeah, mm hmm.

Madame Chair:

That went away. And then on the Water Management
District 47 is accepted. So where did that end up?

Rep. PelllY

I think that district is in the Colorado -

(O.flMic)

Rep. PelllY

North Plat (crosstalk)

Madame Chair:

Okay and then can you tell me on Line 21, where the Metro
Roundtable is, kinda just describe geographically for me what that
area is, I don't -

Rep. PelllY

Denver and Douglas County.

Madame Chair:

Denver and Douglas County?

Rep. PelllY

Yeah, Denver Metro and Douglas County.

Madame Chair:

Were there any questions from the Committee? Okay, so folks
basically understand how these roundtables would be broken out
then. Is that compatible with how the SWSI roundtables look right
now? It's not exactly is it?

Rep. PelllY

Not entirely, although we did make some changes to bring this
more in conformance with SWSI. For example, the Ample White
has a roundtable in SWSI and didn't in our original bill, and that
was one of the things we heard very loudly from folks.

And the other thing was that Pueblo and Colorado Springs,
actually as we put the bill together initially, we thought they would
want to be distinct because their interests may be different than the
agricultural parts of that basin, but they said in very clear terms
that they wanted to not be separated out as part of the basin. So we
dropped that roundtable and created the Ample White Roundtable
instead.

Madame Chair: Just out of curiosity, Representative Penry, if we have this new
Metro Roundtable that didn't exist under SWSI, right, the way the
boundaries are drawn now that doesn't currently exist, if I'm
understanding this correctly?

Rep. Pelll~v: What is the Denver Metro? (D.tlMic) Okay, yeah, the south plat
was all one roundtable as part of SWSI.

www.escriptionist.com Page 8 of 22
