<br />2-28 House Committee amended to appropriations <br /> <br />Page 14 of 22 <br /> <br />more of a regional issue and I don't believe that there is any <br />partisanship in any region with regards to the water, it's a regional <br />issue. And regardless of party everybody is trying to speak on <br />behalf of the region, not on behalf of a party, I've never seen that <br />happen. So understanding that, I think that bending over <br />backwards to try to amend this bill to figure out a way to have <br />bipartisan Boards when, in reality, that seldom comes into play, I <br />question the rationale behind why we would. <br /> <br />Madame Chair: Representative McFadyen <br /> <br />Rep. McFac{ven: Thank you Representative Harvey, Madame Chair. Then I don't <br />see why it would be a problem then to insert a good faith effOli to <br />have a bipartisan, and frankly, as the state moves forward to <br />having committees and commissions, we've seen progressively <br />more partisan committees and commissions, and I would have a <br />great deal of comfort in voting for this legislation if we ensured it <br />was tmly not about party but about the issue. And I believe being <br />nonpartisan would help us get it there and it would actually help <br />me give my vote to this legislation. <br /> <br />Madame Chair: Representative Rhodes <br /> <br />Rep. Rhodes: Thank you Madame Chair. Regarding the same issue, we are <br />looking for expertise on this committee rather than partisanship, <br />and I would far rather have two representatives from the opposite <br />party of myself that have water expertise, than I would have <br />someone who has no water expertise but is of the proper party. <br />That would be my goal in this is to have the expertise rather than a <br />partisanshi p. <br /> <br />Madame Chair: Representative McFadyen <br /> <br />Rep.
