4-14 Senate Committee
Interviewer, Interviewee

question for Senator Entz. The vote was 48 to 11; which is more
than enough for the two-thirds requirements that we have.

Chairman:

Votes.

Dick MacRavey:

I want to thank Senator Entz particularly because he's slightly
younger than I am. I also want to thank Senator Isgar for carrying
this bill, I knew his Father who I greatly admire who is 90 years
old and a tme great leader in South West Colorado. I want a note
for everybody's sake the great quote in 1898 by Mark Twain, in
which he said, "Whiskey is for drinking and water is for fighting."
And I can assure you that having had fist fights in my legislative
committee meeting, had real fist fights, and I've had 80 year old
gentleman to attest to each others senility despite what Ms. Duncan
had to say, I did not say that she was senile I might add, Mr.
Chairman. I just said she just forgot something.

And with that, she already adequately testified on behalf of the
Water Congress and we support whole heartedly. I want to say
that senator or speaker, director George did a magnificent job
before our committee in explaining this particular bill and we
thank him very much and we would urge your favorable
consideration of this particular measure because we think it would
help in terms of not as much litigation, fist fighting and other types
of activities that I have experienced over the last 50 years.

And this will probably be the last time that you will see me
because as you know all of you are going to luck out because I'm
going to retire early next year. Thank you very much.

Chairman: Thank you Mr. MacRavey, as always we appreciate your input and
helping wake up the committee with your presentation. Thank you.
Anyone else in the room who would like to testify with regard to
House Bill 1177? See none the public testimony opponent hearing
is closed. Senator Isgar do you want to wrap up?

Senator Isgar: Thank you Mr. Chairman we have the amendments we need to
approve if you'd like to do that, then we can wrap up after we've
moved the amendments.

Chairman: Senator Isgar would you like to put the bill, the bill is on the table
for action Senator Isgar.

Sellator Isgar: Yeah, I would move House Bill 1177 to the committee the whole
and I would also like to move.

www.escriptionist.com Page 29 of 37
