4-14 Senate Committee
Interviewer, Interviewee

thousands of farmer and rancher members across Colorado. I
apologize for being late and I probably missed an important
testimony up to this point.

Rocky Mountain Fanllers Union is considering supporting human
cloning so we can all end up being in the four or five places we
need to at the same time but that's another bill.

We are here to support this bill and for a variety of reasons put
primarily the fact that it's establishing a system that will provide
for a more comprehensive discussion and consensus building
process. We feel that what's happening here in Colorado the past
several years had projected well into the fi.lture with the growth,
the urbanization of the state, it's symptomatic of what's happening
across the country in that agriculture is being taken for granted.

And when you look at what is happening in our economy with the
increase of energy prices, and increased transportation costs, they
are going to begin affecting our food prices. We need to really
take a hard look at what we're doing to our agricultural system in
this state and of irritated agriculture and our
need to preserve and protect as best we can the agricultural
systems that are important, not only to our economy but to our
food security and safety in providing a good quality local food
supply.

So we are in support of this bill that provides a mechanism that
will bring agriculture to the table. We like some of the changes
that we believe are increasing the representation of agriculture at
the round tables and feel that needs to be looked at closely to make
sure that agriculture is fi.Jlly represented and agricultural water
users are, excuse me. And I just wanted to make sure that Rocky
Mountain Fanllers Union is on record as supporting this bill.

Chairmall: Thank you Mr. Way. Are there any questions for the witness? See
none, thank you for your testimony, we appreciate it.

Bell Way: Thank you.

Chairmall: Are there any other individuals in the room, other than Dick
MacRavey who would like to testify. Mr. MacRavey come on up.
Welcome to Senate Ag, make sure you sign the sheet down there,
state your name and who you represent for the record and proceed.

Dick MacRavey: Mr. Chairman, members of the committee, thank you for this
opportunity to appear and testify here I just want to answer one

www.escriptionist.com Page 28 of 37
