The
purpose of the assessment is to determine what,
if any, impacts could occur from natural gas
production water discharges to several
ephemeral and intermittent creeks.

We are evaluating effects on wetlands and
aquatic life. The work includes completing a
wetland delineation, habitat assessment, and
macroinvertebrate sampling at potential
discharge locations. Results of the study will be
used to assess baseline conditions and choose a
scenario that minimizes potential impacts.

WWE CLIENT AWARDED CONTRACT

CH2M-Hill, partnering with the Washington
Group, has received a multiyear contract from
the Department of Energy for environmental
cleanup work at the Idaho National Engineering
and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL). The
site is contaminated from historic activities
involving testing, operating, and processing
nuclear reactors and nuclear fuels and managing
radioactive wastes.

CH2M-Hill is the parent company of Kaiser-
Hill, a WWE client for nearly a decade, and the
integrating contractor leading the cleanup work
at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology
Site near Denver. WWE congratulates CH2M-
Hill for being awarded the INEEL contract, and
wishes them success with the complex,
challen&ing project.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RAINS

WWE works with several clients in northern
San Diego County, California, which has
experienced significant rainfall. Eric Boos
visited several sites and witnessed the damage
caused by the downpours.

Brenna West of our Durango office compiled
data from the National Weather Service's rain
gauge at the Palomar Mountain Observatory.
Data indicates that 40.97 inches of rain fell there
from December 2004 throu.gh February 2005.

ENGINEERING PRODUCTS

On March 23, Thomas McAndrew and Murray
McCaig of the Rodney Hunt Company gave a
presentation to WWE's staff regarding hydraulic
gates and valves. Our staffers appreciated the
information and technical data for our use in
designs.

VERONICA ESTATES WETLANDS

WWE professionals completed a wetland
delineation several years ago for a property. in
Arapahoe County that was planned for
development. The project was never approved,
and the site has been acquired by a new owner
who is interested in developing it.

WWE was asked to confirm the previous
wetland delineation and assess 404 permitting
requirements for the new project. We
completed fieldwork last month. We appreciate
the opportunity to assist Tom Brown of
Kirkham Michael Consulting Engineers.

WWE/WEI
