<br />Ed - agrees need more storage, but more storage won't help if we don't reduce pumping <br />too. <br /> <br />John Shawcroft - asked what are we going to do for the next generation? Want to <br />accomplish something; pleads with us to take advantage of opportunities when we have <br />them. <br /> <br />Fred - supports project, but concerned that in Crestone the engineers' estimates were a <br />fraction of past floods. <br /> <br />Mike G - need to rely on experts. <br /> <br />JB - supports project; notes on Page 2 something he'd like to see changed; would like <br />to strike ethnicity referral; would like to be based upon science not ethnicity. <br /> <br />Cindy - put in because required <br /> <br />Ray - will support project and would like to see it go forward; would like to have <br />modeling address the goals of delivering wet water for up to 200 days per year is <br />practical and not result in potential problems of icing, etc; if this fatal flaw is revealed <br />from engineering analysis, redirect efforts. <br /> <br />Steve V - a historic moment in his career - agrees with John Shawcroft!!!! <br />they've been working on this for 25 years, if going to be done, needs to be done now; <br />with political climate, money available, etc; many questions and if they hit walls, be <br />willing to change course; try to use other studies as needed. <br /> <br />Mike G - ready to make a motion. <br /> <br />Robert Bagwell moved to approve the Alamosa River Instream Flow Project request for <br />$64500. <br />Fred Bauder seconded the Motion. <br /> <br />Charlie S - wants his concerns on record. <br /> <br />Approved unanimously <br /> <br />Needs Assessment <br /> <br />-group met with Kelly DiNatale regarding Needs Assessment <br />-started with SWSI - does more work need to be done? - thought it was fairly adequate <br />-discussion summary will be sent out to group - 1 sentence items <br />-need to create SOW's; also in development.
