<br />Draft <br /> <br />David Gann stated that he was applying as a representative of The Nature Conservancy. <br />He is a former Montrose County Commissioner and has served on the BLM Resource <br />Advisory Council. He is very involved with fishery and other habitat management within <br />the basin and supports community collaborative approaches. <br /> <br />Tyler Martineau asked whether either applicant owned water rights. Mr. Gann said he <br />does not personally own water rights. The Nature Conservancy owns water rights in the <br />Yampa and North Platte but is not certain if they own any in the Gunnison basin. Mr. See <br />owns water rights in the Uncompaghre. <br /> <br />The roundtable voted & the votes were collected. <br /> <br />Bill Trampe stated that in-order to keep things moving, he recommended they move on to <br />the next appointment while the votes were being counted. <br /> <br />Bill Ferguson moved that the ten newly elected at-large seats not become voting <br />members until the voting was complete for all seats. 2nd?? Discussion followed. Mr. <br />Ferguson withdrew his motion. <br /> <br />Eric Hecox asked how the group would like to handle the votes. Mr. Trampe stated that <br />the candidate should be circled on the sheet on the wall. <br /> <br />Randy Sea was selected at the environmental at-large candidate. <br /> <br />Recreational At-Large Appointment <br /> <br />Bill Trampe asked David Gann if he would like to continue his campaign for a seat. Mr. <br />Gann indicated that he would be interested in the recreational seat. Mr. Trampe opened <br />the floor for additional nominees. There being none, he requested each present to the <br />group. <br /> <br />Bruce Barnhart stated that he was raised on a celery farm near Pueblo and saw water <br />rights change hands/used there. He moved to the Gunnison Basin in the early 1980s. He <br />is a climber, outdoor skier and feels very strongly about protecting the basin. He is a <br />furniture maker by trade but works part time for the BLM in the Gunnison Gorge. There <br />he has worked both with the public and commercial outfitters. <br /> <br />Hank Hotze stated that while he was born in Cheyenne, he was raised in Colorado. He is <br />a graduate of Western State College and University of Denver. He also has a MBA from <br />Harvard's Wharton School of Business. He returned from the East to Colorado in the <br />1970s. He formed a guide and rafting business in the Black Canyon and Gunnison <br />Gorge. Now owns a feedstore in Hotchkiss. Sold the rafting and guide business but still <br />guides for the new owners. Now raises horses and hay. Member of the UVWUA. He <br />is also very committed to the Gunnison. <br /> <br />6 <br />
