<br />Kirk Klancke said the CFWE website was the best he has found regarding water law in <br />Colorado. <br /> <br />The four Western Slope RTs--Yampa White Rivers, Colorado, Gunnison and San Juan <br />Dolores--are meeting in Montrose on Thursday, May 18,2006, from 10:00 am - 3:30 pm, <br />at the Montrose Pavilion. Highlights of the May 18 meeting include: <br /> <br />11:30 AM <br /> <br />Scott Balcomb, Upper Colorado River Compact Commissioner, will speak <br />on the Colorado River Compact: <br /> <br />Its history and purpose; <br />Hydrology versus Compact obligations <br />CUlTent challenges, e.g., shortage criteria. <br /> <br />2:00 PM <br /> <br />Rick Brown will speak on "Options for Meeting the Identified Gap in <br />Water Supply." <br /> <br />2:20 PM <br /> <br />An open discussion on: <br />Common ground <br />Unique needs/issues <br />Next steps <br /> <br />The IBCC will meet in Glenwood Springs on May 22nd and will rotate around the state <br />for future meetings. It will be from 9:00 AM until 1:00 pm. The Colorado Basin RT will <br />meet at 2:00 PM. <br /> <br />There are three issues on the agenda: (1) Discussion of the Bylaws, (2) Discussion on the <br />next steps to be taken and (3) the outcome ofSB 179 and HB 1400 will be known, and <br />they will know how much money is available and how it may be spent. <br /> <br />Report from Other Basin Committees <br /> <br />Doug Scott of Metro RT <br /> <br />Metro RT members will attend the May 18 four-basin meeting. <br /> <br />The next Denver Metro meeting will be on May lOin Parker off of C-4 70 and Parker <br />Road (more information on our website). It will be most substantive as we will be <br />hooking items up to projects. The cities of Parker, Aurora and Centennial will talk about <br />future projects. <br /> <br />Phil Overeynder. Pitkin County <br /> <br />The Arkansas River Basin is trying to get money from HB 1400 to investigate water issues <br />in the Arkansas River Basin.
