During those years with average or above-average rainfall, the actual <br />water use will most likely be less than the design values shown in Table 9. <br /> <br />As indicated in Table 9, water usage within the Fountain water system is <br />expected to more than double within the next 20 years. In order to meet these <br />significantly higher demands and distribute the water to the increasing customer <br />base, additional distribution system facilities will be necessary. <br /> <br />For planning major water supply facilities, it is often considered prudent to <br />look more than 20 years into the future. Thus, if the growth trend indicated by the <br />data in Table 9 were to continue beyond year 2020, the City of Fountain's average <br />day and maximum day water demands would increase to about 8.6 mgd and 22 <br />mgd, respectively, by the year 2040. <br /> <br />16 <br />
