I
I
I
I
I
I

Future Water Reauirements

Future annual average day water use was determined from the preceding
evaluations of population, residential per capita water use, metered sales

apportionment, and unaccounted-for water use.

Future maximum day and

maximum hour water demands were determined by applying the selected design
demand ratios to the projected annual average day use. Table 8 provides a
summary of the design criteria values utilized in calculating the future water
demands for the City of Fountain.

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

TABLE 8
FUTURE WATER USE CRITERIA

Service Area Population
Design Year 2000
Design Year 2010
Design Year 2020

Avg. As can be seen, annual
average day water use is projected to increase from its current level of 2.0 mgd to a
level of 5.3 mgd by year 2020. This represents an annual average increase of
0.1 65 mgd, which is about 100 percent greater than the average annual increase
that has been observed during the past five years. The maximum day demand is
projected to increase from its current level of 5.2 mgd to a level of 13.6 mgd by
year 2020.

15
