<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />basis, the percentage of water obtained from Fry-Ark can vary significantly on a <br />seasonal basis. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />An evaluation of the monthly water production and purchase records from <br />the past five years indicates that about 62 percent of Fountain's total annual water <br />use generally occurs during the six-month period from May through October. By <br />comparison, just over half (about 56 percent) of the Fry-Ark water purchases occur <br />during this six-month period, while an average of about 82 percent of the well <br />production occurs during that half of the year. Thus, the Fry-Ark water purchase <br />volumes do not vary significantly throughout the year while well pumpage tends to <br />be considerably higher during the summer months. In other words, the Fry-Ark <br />supply is generally being utilized as a base supply, and the wells are being used <br />primarily as a supplemental source of supply to help meet the higher summer-time <br />water demands. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In order to better illustrate the seasonal variations in water purchases and <br />well production, Table 5 lists the City's monthly water purchases and pumpage <br />volumes for year 2000 and indicates the relative percentages of the water obtained <br />from each source during each month of the year. The year 2000 was somewhat <br />unique in that an even higher-than-normal proportion of the water use (67 percent) <br />occurred during the May to October time period.
