<br />! .J _ <br />i <br />i <br />Levee floodplain study has begun, bu~ can not be completed until Pueblo County <br />provides data for two detailed studie~ that affect the final results of the CWCB's <br />stud~ i <br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />FY 05 Counties: ! <br />Most of the Mesa, Fremont, Clear Cre~k and Garfield Counties detailed studies <br />have been submitted to Michael Baker!Jr., Inc. (FEMA's NSP) for a QA/QC <br />review. The Montezuma County DF~RM is almost complete for preliminary <br />review by FEMA's NSP and the DFI~ maps should be released to the <br />communities within the next few months. <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />The CWCB is working with Pueblo Co~nty, the Pueblo Conservancy District, <br />FEMA, FEMA's NSP and the CWCB's consultant to work through the <br />I <br />recertification process for the Fountain rreek levee and identifying what sections <br />I <br />of the Arkansas and Wild Horse/Dry Creek levees need recertification. The Map <br />Modernization team is expecting to getithe necessary data to assess the Arkansas <br />and Wild Horse/Dry Creek levees soonJ <br />I <br /> <br />FY 04/03 Counties <br />I <br />Larimer County went effective December 2006, work continues toward finalizing <br />the DFIRM database for the maps. Boul~er County base map work has been <br />I <br />completed and accepted by FEMA. Theieffective date has been delayed by <br />FEMA due to existing levees which are shown as providing protection within the <br />I <br />City of Boulder. FEMA's NSP, Michael J;3aker Jr., is working through these issues <br />with the City of Boulder. I <br />I <br />Adams County (within the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District) went <br />effective on March 5, 2007, and Arapahoe County (also within the Urban <br />Drainage District) will be entering the ap~eal period soon. The Letter of Final <br />Determination for Fremont County (FE~A and NSP project) has been sent out to <br />the communities. The Fremont County qFIRM will go effective September 19, <br />2007. The LFD for the Clear Creek County (FEMA and NSP project) was sent out <br />to the communities. The Clear Creek DF~RM went effective March 19, 2007. <br />i <br />I <br /> <br />Three cloud seeding permits expire: This suJnmer the CWCB staff will review <br />I <br />applications for renewal, operational plans, and Ftermitted project compliance for the <br />last five years for: Colorado Springs Utilities for t~e Upper Roaring Fork River area, <br />Gunnison County for the West Elk Mountains and the Upper Gunnison Tributaries, and <br />then possibly for Denver Water should they seek ~ renewal of their cloud seeding <br />permit. The CWCB has consulted with the Attomey General's office and is developing a <br />process for permit renewal and will work with thJ cloud seeding contractor's and <br />I <br />project sponsors to: (1) advertise the renewal appI~cation for a cloud seeding permit, (2) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />4 <br />
