To generate awareness to public and private individuals and agencies, four
workshops were held throughout Colorado in late April 2007.

The workshops focused on teaching local officials, government personnel, and water
resource consultants the many uses for the Manual, including an understanding of how
it will support compliance with the Rules and Regulations for Regulatory Floodplains in
Colorado. The response was overwhelming and the workshops were a great success
with over 80 people attending Statewide.

Senate Resolution 07-007 - Concerning the Use of Underground Water
Banking Strategies: On May 2, 2007, the Senate passed SR07-007, Senator Wiens'
senate resolution that encourages the CWCB to "conduct a further evaluation of selected
potential aquifer recharge areas on a smaller and more detailed scale, based on the
recommendations from the Senate Bill 06-193 report." The SB06-193 Underground Water
Storage Study was completed and delivered to the General Assembly on March 1, 2007.
In a press release, Senator Wiens reported that he "will be working with the CWCB over
the interim to proceed with legislation for next session that will address the need to
identify the stakeholders and water sources, evaluating existing infrastructure, potential
partnering arrangements, and water right issues."

Water Quality-Water Quantity Coordination Meeting: The water quality-water
quantity coordination meeting took place at the Colorado Department of Public Health
and Environment on April 25, 2007. A copy of the meeting summary is attached for
your review. The next meeting is scheduled for August 1, 2007. The meeting will be
held in Room 719 at DNR.

Colorado Watershed Protection Fund (CWPF): Contrary to last year's low number
of applicants, the CWCB received 19 applications by the April 30, 2006 deadline. We
will send copies of these applications to the WQCD and Colorado Watershed Assembly
(CWA) for review and evaluation. We do not have the revenue dollars for the 2006 tax
year at this time; however, in light of the CW A' s advertising and publicity efforts, we
are cautiously optimistic that the Fund will receive slightly higher than the traditional
annual revenue of approximately $90,000. The Colorado Department of Revenue
generally posts the revenue under the tax checkoff funds in early July.

5
