Silt Water Conservancy District ~ System Rehabilitation ! i The Silt Water Conservancy District operates a ~ystem consisting of reservoirs, canals, I pump plants, and irrigation laterals varying in a'ge from 50-100-years old. This project involves the rehabilitation of the Grass Valley dmal siphon, addressing seepage at the Harvey Gap Dam, sediment removal from the sPillway chute at Rifle Gap Dam, and replacement of the pumps at the District's main Pump Plant. The District has looked at a number of alternatives to address the deterioratfug siphon pipe, which were replacement, I lining, and repair. Given the difficult nature of ~e site, the District is currently pursuing a lining option, with bids to be received on May l(), 2007. If the bids are favorable and the lining option accepted, construction would commence in the fall of 2007. Soil investigation work has been completed at Harvey Gap Reserv~ir, with seepage control measures to commence in the fall of 2007. The spillway chut~ at Rifle Gap has been completed. ! 18. County: Montezuma Project Yield: 756 acre-feet Project Type: Ditch Rehabilitation i I The Carpenter and Mitchell Ditch Company arel comprised of 5 members that own water rights. The existing ditch system is 2.5 miles in length and carries approximately I 11 cfs. This project involves piping the existing open ditch system with 8-inch to 21- inch PVC pipe and installing meters at each delirery point. The project is part of the NRCS Salinity Control Program. NRCS will be 'contributing a $379,500 grant towards design and construction of the project, which wi11 be applied to the CWCB loan. The final CWCB loan amount is anticipated to be $2~7,700. The project has been awarded to Lewis Excavating, Mancos, CO, who has com~enced construction. The project is approximately 90% complete and is anticipated to be finalized in June of 2007. i I I 19.
