Silt Water Conservancy District ~ System Rehabilitation <br />! <br /> <br />i <br />The Silt Water Conservancy District operates a ~ystem consisting of reservoirs, canals, <br />I <br />pump plants, and irrigation laterals varying in a'ge from 50-100-years old. This project <br />involves the rehabilitation of the Grass Valley dmal siphon, addressing seepage at the <br />Harvey Gap Dam, sediment removal from the sPillway chute at Rifle Gap Dam, and <br />replacement of the pumps at the District's main Pump Plant. The District has looked at a <br />number of alternatives to address the deterioratfug siphon pipe, which were replacement, <br />I <br />lining, and repair. Given the difficult nature of ~e site, the District is currently pursuing a <br />lining option, with bids to be received on May l(), 2007. If the bids are favorable and the <br />lining option accepted, construction would commence in the fall of 2007. Soil investigation <br />work has been completed at Harvey Gap Reserv~ir, with seepage control measures to <br />commence in the fall of 2007. The spillway chut~ at Rifle Gap has been completed. <br />! <br />18. The existing ditch system is 2.5 miles in length and carries approximately <br />I <br />11 cfs. This project involves piping the existing open ditch system with 8-inch to 21- <br />inch PVC pipe and installing meters at each delirery point. The project is part of the <br />NRCS Salinity Control Program. NRCS will be 'contributing a $379,500 grant towards <br />design and construction of the project, which wi11 be applied to the CWCB loan. The <br />final CWCB loan amount is anticipated to be $2~7,700. The project has been awarded <br />to Lewis Excavating, Mancos, CO, who has com~enced construction. The project is <br />approximately 90% complete and is anticipated to be finalized in June of 2007. <br />i <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />19.
