MEMORANDUM

L

~ ",Ie S
r \Y1~~ I
/ ;J~ ~
c Lv^--

TO:

The Pagosa Area Water & Sanitation District File

FROM:

Bill Green

DATE:

August 2, 1996

SUBJECT: Telephone Conversation with Jack DeLange

The PAW &SD board is having a workshop on August 15 to discuss the water supply alternatives
presently under consideration: Stevens Lake Enlargement, Martinez Creek Reservoir, and an
infiltration gallery in the alluvium of the San Juan River. He indicated the District may want to
apply for funding for both Martinez Creek and for the San Juan diversion this year. The very
preliminary cost estimates are $3.0 million for Martinez Creek and $1.0 million for the San Juan
project.

We discussed 404 permitting, prioritization of projects, availability of Construction Fund moneys
and Board meeting schedules. I suggested that he and Allen Davey of Davis Engineering and I
get together sometime soon to discuss the documentation for their funding request. He will call
me back to set up a meeting.

cc: Chuck Lile
Section B Staff
Linda Bassi, AGO
