Town of Oak Creek

On August 24, 1988, the results of the original PIS for the Town of Oak Creek were
reviewed and accepted at a final coordination meeting attended by representatives of the
community and FEMA.

City of Steamboat Springs

Prior to initiation of the original FIS, the USACE, Sacramento District, was engaged in
a Flood Hazard Information study of the Steamboat Springs area. That study, which
was being conducted under the authority of Section 206 of the 1960 Flood Control Act
(Public Law 86-645), as amended, was discontinued upon authorization of the FIS. A
brief interim report on the flood situation in Steamboat Springs was published in lieu of
a Flood Hazard Information report, and information and materials developed for the
Flood Hazard Information study were used in the FIS (Reference 5). The search for
basic data for both reports included sending a notice of study initiation to a standardized
list of interagency addressees. Each notice included a request for an expression of
interest in the study and information on pertinent data and materials that could be made
available. Possibly productive leads, thus developed, were followed up during the
course of the studies.
