Town ofYampa

No flood hazards have been identified in the Town of Yampa. Therefore, it has been
designated as non-floodprone. No FIS was previously prepared for the Town of
Yampa.

Routt County

The hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for the original study for the unincorporated
areas of Routt County, published in September 1989 (Reference 4), were performed by
the u.s. Department of the Interior, Geological Survey (USGS), for the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under Inter-Agency Agreement
No. IAA-EMW-85-E-1823, Project Order No. 24. This study was completed in
May 1987.

Countywide Restudy

The hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for the countywide restudy were performed by
Turner Collie & Braden Inc. (TC&B) for FEMA under Contract
No. EMC 1999-CO-OO39. This work was completed in October 2001.

Portions of the TC&B hydraulic analysis of the Yampa River near the City of
Steamboat Springs were revised by FEMA to incorporate the additional hydraulic
analyses and updated topographic information provided by Taylor Engineering
Services, Inc. (Taylor) for areas of split flows that occur upstream of State Highway
(SH) 131. The revised hydraulic analyses were completed by FEMA in October 2003.

Portions of the TC&B hydraulic analyses of Burgess Creek were also revised by FEMA
based on more detailed topographic information and revised culvert information
submitted by Drexel, Barrell and Company (DB) as part of a Letter of Map Revision
(LOMR) issued on October 29, 2003 (Case No. 03-08-0036P). The revised hydraulic
analyses were completed by FEMA in October 2003.

1.3 Coordination

Town of Hayden

The following agencies were contacted to supply maps and information concerning the
original study for the Town of Hayden: the USACE; the USGS; the Regional Planning
and Coordination Commission of Routt County; the U.S. Soil Conservation Service
(SCS); the National Weather Service (NWS); and local officials, residents, and
newspapers.

On January 20, 1977, the results of the work by the USBR were reviewed at a final
community coordination meeting attended by representatives of the USBR, the FIA, and
the Town of Hayden.

2
