<br />000552 <br /> <br />2.4 Fish Health <br /> <br />2.4.1 The Division shall maintain an active program of monitoring and protecting the <br />health of the state's fish populations. The State Fish Health Laboratory will <br />promulgate and enforce associated fish health rules, regulations, Polices and <br />procedures. <br /> <br />2.4.2 The Division shall maintain a cooperative working relationship with the Fish <br />Health Board (FHB) and private fish growers. <br /> <br />2.4.3 Fish that pose a threat to the health of the aquatic resource or humans will not <br />be stocked. <br /> <br />2.5 Reaulations <br /> <br />2.5.1 The Division will develop regulations designed to protect fish species and their <br />habitats. The Division will routinely enforce regulations to ensure that fishery <br />and aquatic resources are adequately protected. <br /> <br />The Division will cooperate with other natural resource agencies in the <br />enforcement and development of protective regulations. <br /> <br />2.6 Water pollution <br /> <br />2.6.1 The Division will cooperate with and assist the Colorado Water Quality <br />Control Division and Commission in efforts to control water pollution. <br />The Division will aid the control of point source (effluent discharge) and <br />non-point source pollution through stream classification and use <br />designations and establishment of water quality standards to protect <br />aquatic communities. <br /> <br />2.6.2 The Division will continue research efforts to define harmful levels of toxicants, <br />biochemical pathways of toxicity, and related chemical and biological <br />relationships. Manpower, surveillance, water sampling efforts and laboratory <br />services will be provided within agreement and funding limitations. Partners <br />in water quality monitoring will be an important component of this effort. <br /> <br />9 <br />
