Feature the Xeriscape DVD distribution at the Douglas County Home and <br />Garden show in Spring 2007 <br />. Host Launch event with gNews Weather personality (Nick Carter or Mike <br />Nelson) <br />. Display the "Douglas County Takes Water Conservation Seriously" booth at <br />the Colorado Water Workshop in Gunnison in May. <br />. Discussions have been ongoing for the past year, and it is understood <br />activities are contingent upon a successful grant effort with CWCS. Plans will <br />be firmed upon receipt of the grant. The display booth was designed to be <br />easily updated from year to year with topical news, such as the award of the <br />grant. <br /> <br />13. Citizen Survey <br />. Douglas County intends to fund an annual citizen survey to benchmark citizen <br />perceptions on County government performance in addition to assessing <br />policy priorities. Questions in the 2007 survey will assess citizen perception of ( <br />Xeriscape DVD effectiveness. <br />. Results of this survey will be included with other evaluations to assess the <br />effectiveness of the DVD distribution effort. The annual survey was done in <br />May of 2006. <br /> <br />Task 6 - Xeriscaping OW Effectiveness Evaluation <br /> <br />This aspect of the proposed conservation education and outreach <br />project is an integral part of the DVD grant application and will be <br />uniquely designed to assess the effectiveness of the DVD <br />distribution effort. Specifically, this component is designed to provide <br />independent evaluation of the effectiveness of the DVD in achieving <br />the stated objectives of the overall project. The findings of the <br />evaluation will provide the ewcs board and staff with information <br />regarding not only the effectiveness of the proposed project but also <br />the effectiveness of the general distribution of DVDs as a means of <br />educating the public at large regarding xeriscape and other <br />conservation issues affecting the individual water users. <br /> <br />The Colorado Foundation for Water Education will perform this <br />independent review. They will develop a survey that will be <br />distributed to a representative sample of homes receiving the <br />Xeriscaping DVD. The home mailing list will be developed to assure <br /> <br />" <br />\. <br />
