Construction of 8 cutoff wall and pump-back. facility Is also underway lit a site
located below Robinson Reservoir dllm, The qUlllity of the water in the seep system at the
dam Is presently unsuitable for use In Eagle Park Reservoir, located downstream of
Robinson Reservoir, The purpose of the cutoff wall and pump-back facility is to collect
seepage from the underdraln system at the dam, and to pump this water back Into
Robinson Reservoir. Project completion Is scheduled for May 1996,

The outlet works construction at Eagle Park Reservoir has been Interrupted by
winter conditions, Work completed to d.te Includes excavetion of the site, installation Of
the outlet works pIpe, concrete encasement, 8nd Inlet structure. The remaining work to
be completed during spring 1996 Includes backfill placement and installation of the gate
and operator equipment. As 8 pa" of this construction project, Climax witlalso plug and
abandon the Lower Nonh Interceptor Pipeline that presently extends through the
embanlc.ment. The outlet works construction Is scheduled for completion during June
1996,

Upon completion of the tailing removal, scheduled for spring 1996, Climax will
allow the reservoIr to partially fill. Weter qu.llty analysis will be conducted to assess the
effectiveness of the cleanup effort, Climax Is prepared to flush the reservoir to obtain
water Quality consistent with in-stream standards for the East Fork Eagle River. Additional
cleanup work may be conducted prior to making B second filling of the reservoir, The
schedule for completion of the cleanup effort Is dependent on the results of the wlter
Quality analysis, Although It Is anticipated that the cleanup program will be completed by
May 1996, Climax can make no assuraoces concerning the completion date. Delivery of
-
water to the East Fork of the Eagle River Is under the jurisdiction of the Water Ouality
-
Control Commission and the Colorado Department of Minerals. Water will be released from
the reservoir Into the East Fork Eagle River when Climax demonstrates that the water
meets appropriate str8am standards.

[Climax is presently accepting proposals from outside consultants for engineering
services. The scope of work for the selected consultant will include the development of
B program for evaluation of the cleanup effectiveness and wlter quality,
