MEMORANDUM

TO: The Greeley and Loveland Irrigation Co. File

FROM: Bill Green

DATE: December 13, 1996

SUBJECT: Meeting with Representatives of Greeley and Loveland Irrigation Co.

~~
I met on Thursday, Dec. 12, with Dave ~'~~lM"It; the president of the Greeley and Loveland
Irrigation Co" John Gauthiere who is with the City of Greeley and a member of the board of the
Company, and Ed Toms ofECI. The Greeley and Loveland Irrigation Co, operates a fairly large
system (20,000 irrigated acres) in Larimer and Weld counties.

The Company is proposing a major rehabilitation program of it's facilities to include four dams
and four canals. Three of the dams have inadequate spillways and the Company is expecting a
letter from the State Engineer requesting action.

ECI will prepare a feasibility study for a program of staged projects over the next several years.
Funding could also be staged. A very preliminary cost estimate for the project is $1.0 million. The
projects may involve rehabilitation work on 2 or 3 dams and possible expansion of one reservoir
as well as control of seepage problems with ditches and canals.

They intend to complete the feasibility work next year and apply to the Board for construction
funding in Nov. '97. The Company will submit an application this month and would like to apply
for a feasibility study loan at the Jan, '97 Board meeting. We discussed a Small Dam Site grant of
$5,000. (Since a number of reservoirs are involved here we may want to provide more than
$5,000 in Small Dam Site funds.)

cc: Bill Stanton

?r ~;;~
//h../ /7~~
0~ 7beJ.
