The South Side Reservoir is located approximately 1 mile southwest of
the City of Loveland. This $400,000 project involves rehabilitation of the outlet structure and spillway.
These improvements will eliminate the current storage restrictions imposed by the State Engineers Office.
The project is currently under design and is scheduled for construction in the fall of 2006.

8. The
reservoir was originally constructed in 1896 to store water for irrigation. The dam was constructed of
granular material, and over the years has suffered structural damage due to seepage. Given the condition
of the dam embankment and the potential for failure, the dam was intentionally breached in 1983. The
proposed project involves rehabilitating the existing dam embankment, the construction of a controlled
outlet structure, and the construction of an emergency spillway. The project was bid in the fall of2003.
The Reservoir Company is currently exploring its options increasing the dredging quantity to obtain its
full storage decree of 1,750 acre-feet. The Company is considering applying for additional funds from
the Board to achieve the full reservoir capacity. Additionally, the Company has amended the loan
contract for a I-year time extension to complete the work. The Company is also researching the
possibility of utilizing Owl Creek Reservoir as storage facility from flows outside of Owl Creek. This
could be accomplished by pumping water from the Larimer Weld Canal, located approximately % of a
mile downstream of the reservoir.

9. Riverside Reservoir and Land Company - Riverside Reservoir Spillway Rehabilitation

Authorization: SB 98-1189
Water Source: South Platte River
Terms of Loan: $450,000 @ 3.75% for 20 yrs.

County: Weld - NW of Wiggins
Project Yield: 200 ac.ft.
Project Type: Spillway Rehabilitation

This project is the construction of an emergency spillway on the Riverside Reservoir Dam, located 11
miles northwest of Wiggins in Weld County. The State Engineer has placed storage
restriction on the reservoir until an emergency spillway is completed. The Riverside Reservoir and Land
Company contracted with W.W. Wheeler and Associates of Denver to prepare construction plans and
specifications. The State Engineer's office and the Riverside Reservoir and Land Company are currently
evaluating alternate spillway sizes. The Company is currently resolving right-of-way issues downstream of
the spillway. The Company is looking at de-authorizing their existing loan and coming back to the Board
with a new project.

10.
