The High School, Elementary School, the municipal park <br />and 53 customers will be served. <br /> <br />Currently, flat rates are charged for irrigation water used at <br /> <br /> <br />the park. No irrigation water is used at the elementary school. <br /> <br /> <br />The High School's irrigated water use is monitored by a meter. <br /> <br />In the future, Phase III of the project will be the construction <br /> <br /> <br />of an irrigation system throughout the residential area of the <br /> <br />Town. <br /> <br />The goals of the project are to reduce the amount of treated <br />water used for irrigation; to extend the life of the current <br />water treatment plant; to reduce capital cost associated with <br />compliance with EPA's Safe Drinking Water Act regulations; and to <br />increase the community's capacity to provide potable and non- <br />potable water for residential, commercial, or industrial uses. <br />Limited water resources, coupled with intermountain growth in the <br /> <br /> <br />West, are forcing small communities to evaluate their water <br /> <br /> <br />resources and to conserve through increased education and <br /> <br /> <br />innovation. This is our attempt to decrease consumption of our <br /> <br /> <br />treated water resource and create a water efficient irrigation <br /> <br /> <br />system. <br /> <br />The Town of Nucla presently owns 111 shares in the Colorado <br />Cooperative Ditch company_ These shares yield approximately <br />
