)

i

In addition, we will work with the local hosts, as well as the Office and other project stakeholders
to select and engage the forum's speakers. We strongly believe that the forum attendees will
benefit from having a mixture of speakers with statewide, regional and local perspectives
presenting at the forums. In this way the local speakers can share local stories and lessons learned,
whereas selected speakers will talk at each and every forum to help maintain the consistency of the
message and discussion content.

With respect to the meeting locations for the workshops and forums, we have already conducted
significant outreach to identify potential meeting hosts and potential venues, which was performed
in part to allow us to prepare a detailed project budget. The fmallist of venues will be developed
with the Office once the grant is awarded. To this point of identifying potential venues, several
partner groups already have agreed to donate space, staff time, and/or food. Once the list of
potential attendees has been created, we will fmalize venues for the workshops and forums,
ensuring that at least one venue will be established within each of the seven major river basins. At
least two venues will be established in both the South Platte and Colorado River basins. It is
expected that one venue will also be established in the South Metro area, to reach this important
group of water providers and users. Table 1 summarizes the potential locations for the workshops
and forums and identilles the host that has volunteered to support the project.

Table 1
Summary of Preliminary Venues for Technical Workshops and Forums

River Basin City Host

South Platte

Arkansas

Gunnison
Colorado

Dolores, San Juan

HigWands Ranch
Pueblo
Gunnison
Glenwood Springs
Durango

Centennial Water and Sanitation District
SE Colorado Water Conservancy District
Western State College
Colorado River Water Conservation District
SW Colorado Water Conservation District (invited)

Note that as currently conceived, the workshops and forums will occur on back-to-back days at the
same venue to allow for training to be followed immediately by dialogue and shared stories.

Task 2: Promote Workshops and Forums
Once the venues and the schedules for the workshops and forums have been firmly established, we
will promote them using mailings and appropriate advertising likely to include brief announcements
at the various 1177 Basin Roundtable meetings and SWSI meetings, advertising in the Colorado
Water Wise Council quarterly newsletter, and web-postings with the Colorado Foundation for
Water Education, the CWCB, the EDO, the project stakeholders and other groups.

We will develop a tri-fold brochure to be mailed to the selected participants. This same brochure
can be distributed at meetings by the project stakeholders, members of the CWCB and EDO, etc.
The website postings will include the brochure, and links to workshop and forum content such as
agendas and lists of speakers. As the meetings progress, information collected at the workshops
and forums will be included in the website posting so that prospective audience members can better
understand the project.

The workshops and forums will be free of charge to anyone who wants to attend
because the issues and content to be discussed are considered vital to a healthy
water resources planning and management dialogue in our State.

8
