S. D. A. SURVEY ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />The U. S. Department of Agriculture will develop information it needs for <br />departmental use as described in the objectives. This information will be <br />available for use by the State in preparation of its plan for the overtall <br />development, management, and use of water and related land resources in the <br />basin. USDA participation will be carried out through examination and <br />analysis of existing source material and through reconnaissance type in- <br />vestigations., The intensity of examin~tion of sub-watershed areas will be <br />generally :l.n',accoi'd with that followed in making preliminary investigation <br />of a P. L. '566 'project. <br /> <br />The work to be undertaken by the USDA will be conducted with an awareness <br />of the provisions of State laws and regulations regarding the allocation of <br />water and existing rights to the use of water. The reports prepared as a <br />result of the survey will show, when applicable, a reference to the frame- <br />work of legal limitations within which the study was bounded. <br /> <br />The survey will include: <br /> <br />1. Identification of a desirable pattern of water and related land use <br />~anagement and development to meet foreseeable future requirements an~ <br />alleviate watershed protection, flood prevention and agricultural <br />water problems; , <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2. Identification of possible modifications of the pattern of water and <br />related land use, management and development for consideration by the <br />interests involved; <br /> <br />d <br /> <br />
