Cooperate with the other agencies, to identify a desirable patterq of <br />future water and related land use, management and development in the <br />basin. <br /> <br />Forest Service. With assistance from the Economic Research Service and <br />the Soil Conservation Service, this agency will: <br /> <br />1. Identify problem areas on the National Forests and their contribution <br />to basin water problems. <br /> <br />2. Determine the need for improvement measures on Nauional Forest lands <br />for watershed protection, flood prevention, recreation, and pollution <br />control. <br /> <br />3. In collaboration with the other Services, estimate the requirements <br />and potential for recreational development on non-National Forest <br />lands to supplement, augment, or make more effective proposed or <br />potential recreational developments or activities on National Forest <br />lands. <br /> <br />4. Cooperate with the State Forester in determining needs for improvement <br />measures for watershed protection, flood prevention and pollution <br />prevention and related measures on private forest lands; <br /> <br />5. ,Tabulate and report the present use of water and probable f~ture needs <br />for water on National Forest lands for various purposes,including <br />administrative uses, industrial and other commercial use, livestock <br />and agriculture, recreation facilities, and fish and wildlife habitat. <br /> <br />6. Cooperate with the Soil Conservation Service to review and evaluate <br />available basic physical data, published and unpublished, concerning <br />soil and water resources of National Forest lands and non-federal <br />forest lands and to collect additional related basic physical data <br />needed for the survey. ' <br /> <br />7. Collaborate with the Soil Conservation Service and the State of <br />Colorado in defining the water yielding areas and their characteristics <br />in the Yampa River Basin, together with their water yields and con- <br />tributions to floodwater and sedimentation problems. <br /> <br />8. With assistance from the Forest Service and <br />Economic Research Service, this agency will: <br /> <br />, <br />1.
