Develop information on land use and agricultural water management and <br />associated problems and on the location, nature and ext~nt of existing <br />and potential agricultural land and water developments, including <br />upstream water storage opportunities with appropriate associated <br />municipal and industrial, fish and wildlife and recreational opportunities. <br /> <br />3. Appraise the effect of present and probable future farm irrigation <br />practices and efficiency on water use in the basin. Prepare summaries <br />of past, current and needed flood prevention, agricultural water <br />management improvements, fish and wildlife, recreational, and <br />associated local municipal and industrial developments for each <br />tributary, including storage sites, based,on available information. <br />Analyze the effects of these developments and their relationship <br />to other proposed or potential developments within the ~asin. <br /> <br />4. Make a field reconnaissance of possible P. L. 566 projects and a <br />determination of their relationship to other existing andfpotential <br />water resource developments within the Yampa River Basin, including <br />an estimate of their probable feasibility. <br /> <br />Included within these activities are the assembling, reviewing and evaluating <br />of available data, the undertaking of necessary field survey work, the <br />drafting of the report and supplementary material for consideration of the <br />Field Advisory Committee, and the completion of other necessary and related <br />duties. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Responsibilities of the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Conservation Board will undertake the following aspects <br />of the survey: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Arrange for cooperation as needed with the other concerned Federal, <br />State and local agencies, provide liaison with these agencies, and <br />obtain and exchange needed information and data. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Compile and analyze land and stream runoff information in the basin. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Compile information relating to water rights and the. present use of <br />water and the stream depletion resulting from such use. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Analyze desirable potential use of water and the attaching stream <br />depletion in the basin. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Prepare summaries showing the present status of water resources <br />development and potential ultimate development within the basin. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Determine :need for additional contour maps and arrange for assistance <br />in compilihg the same with other agencies. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />7. Determine need for any additional streamflow and precipitation <br />information and arrange for the collection of the same. <br /> <br />j" <br /> <br />
