.

.

12e. Geologic Considerations

The Contractor will utilize the geologic data and geologic

evaluations developed in Phase I of the study for the phase II

geologic evaluation. Additional investigations of a very limited

nature may be performed if, in the opinion of the Contractor or

the State, more information is required at one or more of the

four potential reservoir sites to develop reconnaissance-level

cost estimates. The Phase II geologic analyses will concentrate

on identification of any major potential problems associated with

construct ion of major project features.

12f. Investment Cost Analysis

The Contractor will estimate the total capital cost of each
alternative (as formulated to include all applicable project
purposes) to include items 1 through 8 of activity 12b. This
capital cost estimate will be displayed in an itemized manner in
the draft final report without escalation of costs for staged
construction and without interest during construction. All costs
will be expressed in 1982 dollars. Using this cost estimate as a
base, the contractor will estimate total investment costs for
each alternative using the two following approaches:

-5-
