.

~

.,

3. When possible, considering other conditions and requirements,

Blue Mesa Reservoir level will be lowered prior to freeze-up season to

minimize ice jams and to do additional channelizing in the area.

11. Storage of water in and release from Curecanti Unit reservoirs

shall not cause any interference with the water rights on the Gunnison

River senior to Curecanti Unit water right.

To accomplish this objective, minimum release will be made from

Morrow Point Reservoir to satisfy the greater of 200 c.f.s. or that required

for downstream water rights after consideration is given to the inflow below

Korrow Point but not to exceed the river flow that would have occurred if

the Curecanti Unit had not been constructed. Releases in excess of such

river flow (without the Curecanti Unit) may be made to satisfy any water
right or storage exchanges, special release commitments, etc., entered into
by the United States.
5. Except during passage of floods, and during the filling of Crystal
Reservoir and emergencies, the power releases from Morrow Point Dam will
be regulated to provide for flows within the following criteria:
a. Maximum release during normal conditions will not exceed
5,000 c.f.s.
b. Minimum release will be the greater of that required to main-
tain a flow of 200 c.f.s. or to satisfy downstream water rights.
c. Fluctuations in daily releases may vary from the minimu.':l set
forth in 5 b. to such maximums during the irrigation season
as experience deconstrates can be ~ade without undue dist~bances
to irrigation diversions and to 5,000 c.f.s. during the re-
mainder of the year.

2
