<br /> <br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />May 2000 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of May was computed to <br />be 147 acre-feet (AF) as shown in Table 3. There were 2611 AF net San Juan-Chama <br />(SJ-C) losses, as shown in Table 2. There were 20987 AF diverted through Azotea <br />Tunnel this month. <br /> <br />There was a total of 345 AF of Natural (RG) released from Heron. There was 10425 <br />AF of SJ-C released in May of which 5605 AF was the City of Santa Fe's delivery <br />to the City of Albuquerque's (City)pool in Abiquiu which the Bureau of <br />Reclamation (USBR) leases for supplemental water (USBR lease), 1200 AF of Los <br />Alamos's water was released to the City's (USBR lease) pool in Abiquiu, 1000 AF <br />was release from Espallola to the City (USBR lease) in Abiquiu, 15 AF was release <br />from Twining pool to the City (USBR lease) in Abiquiu, 400 AF was released from <br />Taos to the City (USBR lease) in Abiquiu, 2145 AF was released from Jicarilla's <br />pool to the City (USBR lease) in Abiquiu, 60 AF was released from Red River's <br />pool to the City (USBR lease) in Abiquiu. <br /> <br />There were no SJ-C releases from storage in El Vado. <br /> <br />There were 27214 AF of SJ-C water released from Abiquiu, of which 555 AF was <br />MRGCD's release for irrigation demand, 24648 AF was released from the City (USBR <br />lease) for supplemental irrigation water in the middle valley, 1757 AF was <br />released for Santa Fe ; 1187 AF to the City (USBR lease), 570 AF to Otowi ( 550 <br />AF below, 20 AF above, letter dated 4/27/2000). 89 AF was release for the City, <br />86 AF below Otowi, 3 AF above (letter dated 4/27/2000). 26 AF was released for <br />Los Lunas, the total for depletions below Otowi (letter dated 4/27/2000).106 AF <br />was released for Bernalillo for depletions below Otowi (letter dated 4/27/2000) . <br />35 AF was released from Twining's pool to the City (USBR lease). <br /> <br />There was 0.26 inches of precipitation at Heron Reservoir, which is 17% of the <br />May running average of 1.52 inches. The monthly computations for Heron Reservoir <br />are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 802 AF. There were 23 <br />AF of losses on the reservoir. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez <br />Canyon Reservoirs, and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. Storage and <br />evaporation of Rio Grande water in El Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown in <br />Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and <br />analyzed. <br />
