<br /> <br />San Juan-Charna <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />April 2000 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of April was computed <br />to be 2234 acre-feet (AF) as shown in Table 3. There were 1703 AF net San Juan- <br />Chama (SJ-C) losses, as shown in Table 2. There were 15864 AF diverted through <br />Azotea Tunnel this month. <br /> <br />There was a total of 7819 AF of Natural (RG) released from Heron. There was 19900 <br />AF of SJ-C released in April of which 15952 AF was the City of Albuquerque's <br />delivery; 11860 to the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy (MRGCD) in EI Vado, 4092 to <br />the City's pool in Abiquiu, 400 AF for Bernalillo to there pool in Abiquiu, 15 <br />AF for Twining to the City's pool that the Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) leases <br />for supplemental water (USBR lease) in Abiquiu, 320 AF was the Middle Rio Grande <br />Conservancy District's (MRGCD) delivery to El Vado, 400 AF was Taos's delivery <br />to the City pool (USBR's lease) in Abiquiu, 400 AF of Los Lunas's delivery to the <br />City (USBR lease) in Abiquiu, and 500 of Belen's water to the City pool (USBR <br />lease) in Abiquiu, 60 AF of Red Rivers delivery to the City (USBR lease) in <br />Abiquiu, and 1853 AF of un contracted water to the City (USBR lease) in Abiquiu. <br /> <br />There were 2300 AF released from EI Vado in the month of March, of which 1200 was <br />Los Alamos County's delivery to the City (USBR lease) in Abiquiu, 100 AF was Los <br />Lunas's delivery to the City (USBR lease) in Abiquiu, 1000 AF was Espanola's <br />delivery to the City (USBR lease)in Abiquiu. <br /> <br />There were 6404 AF of SJ-C water released from Abiquiu, of which 938 AF was <br />MRGCD's release for irrigation demand, 538 was released from the City to Jemez, <br />4379 AFwas released from the City (USBR lease) for supplemental irrigation water <br />in the middle valley, 18 AF was released for Los Lunas for use below Otowi <br />(letter dated 4/4/2000), 85 AF for Bernalillo for use below Otowi (letter dated <br />4/5/2000), 375 AF for Santa Fe (362 AF below Otowi and 13 above Otowi, letter <br />dated 4/5/2000), 71 AF for the City (54 AF below Otowi and 17 AF above Otowi, <br />letter dated 4/5/2000) . <br /> <br />There was 0.36 inches of precipitation at Heron Reservoir, which is 33% of the <br />April 1.10 (running average of 1.70 inches). The monthly computations for Heron <br />Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Narnbe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 703 AF. There were 17 <br />AF of losses on the reservoir. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez <br />Canyon Reservoirs, and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. Storage and <br />evaporation of Rio Grande water in El Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown in <br />Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and <br />analyzed. <br />
