<br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />March 2000 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of March was computed <br />to be 4816 acre-feet (AF) as shown in Table 3. There were 158 AF net San Juan- <br />Chama (SJ-C) losses, as shown in Table 2. There were 536 AF diverted through <br />Azotea Tunnel this month. <br /> <br />There was a total of 150 AF of Natural (RG) released from Heron. There was 30454 <br />AF of SJ-C released in February of which 1200 AF was the City of Los Alamos's <br />delivery to the City of Albuquerque's pool that the Bureau of Reclamation <br />(USBR)leases for supplemental water (USBR lease)in Abiquiu, 18617 AF was the <br />Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District's (MRGCD) delivery to El Vado, 1000 AF was <br />Espanola's delivery to the City pool (USBR' s lease) in Abiquiu, 6500 AF of <br />Jicarilla's delivery to the City (USBR lease) in Abiquiu, and 3137 of un <br />contracted water to the City pool (USBR lease) in Abiquiu. <br /> <br />The last few days of March had a few storms that added to the tributary inflows <br />to Heron (4816 AF), this increase did not show up at Lower Willow Creek, thus not <br />being detected until end of month calculations, this will be released in April. <br /> <br />There were 876 AF released from El Vado in the month of March, of which the total <br />was MRGCD's to there pool in Abiquiu. <br /> <br />There were 21798 AF of SJ-C water released from Abiquiu, of which 10,000 AF was <br />an internal transfer from the City of Santa Fe's pool to the City's pool (USBR <br />lease), 2041 was released from the City to Jemez, 154 AF was released from the <br />City for Nambe, 4000 AF was released from the City to Elephant Butte, 5122 AF was <br />released from the City pool (USBR's lease) for supplemental irrigation water in <br />the middle valley. <br /> <br />There was 2.53 inches of precipitation at <br />March (running average of 1.70 inches). <br />Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />Heron Reservoir, which is 149% of the <br />The monthly computations for Heron <br /> <br />, <br />~. <br />, <br />j-l <br />I <br />( <br />I <br />" <br />^ <br />~ <br />~ <br />~ <br />l! <br />',. <br />t. <br />f <br />~ <br />~.; <br />~ <br />l~ <br />i\ <br />ii. <br />" <br />, <br />, <br />~ <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 265 AF. There were 11 <br />AF of losses on the reservoir~ Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez <br />Canyon Reservoirs, and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C.
