<br /> <br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />October 2000 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of october was computed <br />to be 131 acre-feet (AF) as shown in Table 3. There were 8 AF net San Juan-Chama <br />(SJ-C) losses, as shown in Table 2. There were no diversions through Azotea <br />Tunnel this month. <br /> <br />There was a total of 130 AF of Natural (RG) released from Heron. There was 3729 <br />AF of SJ-C released in October, of which the total was from Cochiti to Abiquiu, <br />which will then be released from Abiquiu over the winter to the Cochiti <br />Recreation pool in Cochiti. <br /> <br />There was a total of 12901 AF released from EI Vado, of which the total was from <br />the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District (MRGCD}, this water was sent to <br />storage in Abiquiu, this operation was done in order to draw down EI Vado in <br />order to work on the outlet works. 1226 AF was internally transferred from Santa <br />Fe to MRGCD's pool in EI vado (letter water to Otowi; dated.9/27/2000). <br /> <br />There were 9714 AF of SJ-C water released from Abiquiu, of which 893 AF was <br />MRGCD's release for irrigation demand, 8473 AF was released from the City to <br />storage in Elephant Butte, 190 AF was from Bernalillo to MRGCD in Abiquiu (letter <br />water to Otowi; dated 9/27/2000), 158 AF from the City to MRGCD in Abiquiu <br />(letter water to Otowi; dated 9/27/2000). <br /> <br />There was 2.47 inches of precipitation at <br />October running average of 1.42 inches. <br />Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />Heron Reservoir, which is 173% of the <br />The monthly computations for Heron <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 214 AF. There were -2 <br />AF of losses on the reservoir. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez <br />Canyon Reservoirs, and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. Storage and <br />evaporation of Rio Grande water in E1 Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown in <br />Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and <br />analyzed. <br />
