<br />SAN JUAN-CHAMA <br />WATER ACCOUNTING <br />ALBUQUERQUE PROJECTS OFFICE <br />APRIL 1994 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of April was computed to <br />be 6,770 acre-feet (af) as shown on Table 3. Net San Juan-Chama losses were <br />170 af as shown on Table 2. There were 21,060 af of San Juan-Chama water <br />diverted through Azotea Tunnel during April. <br /> <br />There were 34,729 af of San Juan-Chama water released from Heron in April. A <br />total of 15,251 af was released for the City of Albuquerque. Of this amount, <br />1,197 af less transportation losses, were stored in Abiquiu Reservoir and <br />14,054 af in MRGCD pool were stored in El Vado. A total of 14,307 af were <br />released for the MRGCD and all was stored in El Vado. 2,969 af were released <br />from the Santa Fe Metropolitan Water Board's (SFMWB) pool, of which 2,064 af were <br />stored in the MRGCD pool at El Vado, and 357 af less transportation losses, were <br />stored in Abiquiu Reservoir for the SFMWB, 138 af were stored in El Vado for the <br />SFMWB, and 410 af were stored in El Vado for PNM. 197 af were released for the <br />Town of Bernalillo and stored in Abiquiu for the City of Albuquerque; 306 af were <br />released for the Town of Taos and stored in El Vado; 1,000 af less transportation <br />losses, were released for the City of Espanola and stored in Abiquiu; 378 af were <br />released for the Village of Los Lunas and stored in the MRGCD's pool at El Vado <br />of which 148 af are to be released as dictated by the State for well depletions. <br />15 af were released for the Twining Water and Sanitation District and stored in <br />Abiquiu Reservoir. <br /> <br />A summary sheet is provided for water delivered from Heron, El Vado, and Abiquiu <br />Reservoirs. <br /> <br />Total precipitation reported at Heron Reservoir for the month of April was <br />2.49 inches which is 237% of normal. The monthly computations for Heron <br />Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 1,068 af. Evaporation <br />loss on the reservoir was 10 af. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at <br />Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Cochiti, Abiquiu, <br />and Jemez Canyon Reservoirs are presented in Tables 5A-5C. <br /> <br />Storage and evaporation of Rio Grande water in El Vado and Abiquiu reservoirs are <br />shown on Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and <br />analyzed. <br />
