Statement: The inveetigation of this eubJect will be made <br />basically in two parts, i.e., development and utilization. <br /> <br />Major steps in the studies are: <br /> <br />(1) ~ Develo:Plllent: <br /> <br />(a) Investigate each basin for dam and reservoir sites <br />for multiple purpose or power alone, taking into account the availabil- <br />ity of water for the purpose. <br /> <br />(b) Make preliminary plana for developing each baein and <br />rough estimates of cost for optimum development of the hydroelectric <br />potentialities cons1etent with the other uses of water, <br /> <br />(c) Make final plana for the entire system so as to <br />prod.uce the optimum dependable power. <br /> <br />(d) Review coet and benefits of each project and deter- <br />mine the economy of the entire eystem. <br /> <br />(2) Power Utilization: <br /> <br />(a) Determine the present needs and estimate the future <br />needs for power, <br /> <br />(b) Determine the present and future values of hydro- <br />electric power. <br /> <br />b.
